I'm sorry, i didn't realize I was responding to your situation -- I was merely responding to the request for ideas.
As with any fundraising idea, not every idea is going to work with every situation. However, I am confident an overwhelming majority of schools looking for fundraisers are not rural, and do have phones and cell phones.
By the way, they've already collected 53 cell phones, and they've only been doing it for a little over a week.
This seems to be a real sticking point with you, but let's get real. How much could you really expect to earn with the cell phones?
We are a poor rural school district. Some of our folks don't have phones much less cell phones. Some don't have electricity. I don't think that cell phone collection would be a real alternative for us.
Linda - are you representing a company? that is sort of a no no on these boards........sounds like it
(my apologies if you are not) How about telling us what your ideas are?
Besides sell stuff you could be creative. Hat days are popular around here. On a particular day the kids get wear hats and pay a $1.00 fine, because it is against the rules. You could also hold arts and crafts shows or have some kind of community event. The high school SGA once took .25 votes for the teacher (willing, of course) to get a pie thrown in their face. Opportunities are endless.
