We use Scholastic as well for several years. The reason we do not use credit card machines is for the reason you stated. It is too much of a headache. We just use cashsales and checks.
I have found Scholastic to be very acccomodating to us and our rep Kathie is the best! Hopefully your rep can work with you to resolve your problems. - next year - forget the credit card transactions. Good luck
We have always used scholastic for our book fair and usually only run into a few minor problems. This spring, however, $249 worth of credit card charges has come up missing. The chair insists that the slips were placed in the box with the machine as we were told to do. Scholastic did not find them and has now billed us for the $249. Unfortunately, in the chaos of cancelled school because of snow days the chair did not photo copy the credit card slips so we don't have any idea who made the charges. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Do you think Scholastic will work with us any on the $249? We do have a $500 credit that we were going to carry over to next year. Any advice?
