Mom of two boys,
We are renting out a credit card machine for our auction. We are wanting tips to help us process people out at the end of the night. Can you tell us how it worked for you? We will have the swiper machine with a printer. I was curious why you swiped the cards at the beginning of the auction and how this helped speed things up. This may be the solution to our problem. Thanks!

Hi,
We had someone who volunteered their credit card machine the night of our auction. We ran thru peoples cards as they entered the auction. This allowed for a very quick check out. We then reimbursed the person the credit card charges after all was said and done. Maybe someone who has the ability to process credit cards ie. Longaberger Reps. , Stampin Up reps., Pampered Chef etc.. Hope this makes sense and helps..

Credit cards, while easy, are not cheap. Merchants must pay several % points to their bank to accept credit cards. So, the first question to ask is if you're willing to lose some of your profits for the convenience. If the answer is yes then the easiest method I can think of is to have a form the buyer can fill out with all of the pertinent credit card info. Then you can deliver or fax these forms to a merchant willing to manually enter the credit card number in the next day or two. That merchant would then give you a check for all of the proceeds less their cost and fee.
