We're in Michigan and started using the program this fall. I figured we had the potential to raise about $2000 per month if we get 100 families signed up (so far only about 40). Our challenge is simply making people aware of the program in a short, to the point order form. So far, it's been buried in the details of our monthly scrip order form.
To make it easier for our parents, we added a sticker on each card that reminds them how to reload the value and that our school gets 5% back. If you have Krogers in your area, this is a no-brainer. I love scrip in general, and scrip for groceries is fabulous - you always need food.
I will keep you updated. We sold 80 cards on the first night--when the kroger speaker came--so we are hoping it keeps this pace up. The Kroger guy said a few schools in the town over from us use this program and last year they raised $15,000.
Hi. I am in the Cincinnati area of Ohio. Our school does participate in the Kroger Neighborhood Rewards program (I am our scrip/gift card coordinator). It is so simple to use. I reload my own card monthly, it is no hassle and paying at the register with the loaded gift card is easy. Unfortunately, we only have a small handful of people using it. I would love to get more people on board. I know some of our parents shop at Meijer and Biggs, but I would guess in a school with school and staff in the range of 500, we should be able to get 100 signed up, but is just hasn't happened.
I would be interested to know how this works for you. Please keep us updated. Good Luck.
Does anyone else participate in this program. Our school has just started it this month. Seems like a good program---AND NO SELLING ON THE PART OF THE PARENTS OR THE STUDENTS!! Seems like an easy way to earn money--earn money when people shop at krogers. Anyways i was wondering if anyone else does this and how it is going. Thanks!
