We had great success last year with our one of a kind teacher items. Some items we did were:
Dinner for student and friend with Principal at a local restaurant.
Picnic lunch with teacher and her pet dogs.
Movie with teacher.
Bake christmas cookies with teacher in her home.
Cereal and cartoons with teacher in her classroom one morning.
Craft making afterschool with teacher and 3 students.
Friday night babysitting.
Paint a picture with teacher at school.
Afterschool reading with snack with reading teacher.
Dinner and 50 games tokens at local kid place with 2 teachers.
Shopping trip to local bookstore with teacher and purchase of one book.
A bedtime story in your home with teacher (in her PJ's)
Happy meal with teacher at fast food restaurant.
We had parents go CRAZY for these. One parent paid over $150 for a movie with their child's teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good luck at your event!

I won "first in line in the carpool line" and it's the best deal in town! No one was clued into it and I got it for $35! A steal! It's gone for $500 in some years...

We ask each of our teachers to donate something to our silent auction--like lunch and a movie with the teacher or something like that. Always popular!

Great thread. We are starting to talk about our spring auction now, too.

We did 'Pick your child's Teacher' -- one for each grade last year. It was pretty good.

If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down. <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>

These have been great so far! Any other non monetary, out of the box ideas?

Hi,

I would also suggest our Auction Toolkit. Th toolkit contains lots of great ideas to help you run a fun and profitable auction. You can find out more about the Auction toolkit here .

Good Luck,

Mike

We just did this and made over 2,000 dollars for our music department. We had about 25 items...things like
-1 month free piano lessons with the music teacher
-Lunch on the Farm with a teacher with farm animals
-A girls night out creme brulee class with someone who knows how to make the desert
-Sports day with the Assitant Principal and PE teacher
-PE teacher for the day
-Music teacher for the day
-Shopping date with one teacher
-Movie night with another teacher
-Sleep over that auctioned 8 spots for the sleep over at the school
-An afternoon of making and firing rockets with the Science teacher
-A Spirit basket with PTO Spirit wear and gear
-A hand made quilt
-A very pretty little girls hand made dress

Sorry that's all I can remember but it was great fun....d
