We are into principal dare here at our middle school. A dare is done each quarter by out students reading of 170,000 pages. We have had snakes, gators, dunk tank, duck tap to wall, wear a costume all day, be spayed by foam, the human hot dog and finally we shaved 6 teachers bald last spring. Good Luck this year we have spiders that they have to sit in a tank with.
Well we live in the city so kissing a pig would not work for us. You could have the classrooms collect 100 box tops for every one your prinicpal collects or...25, 50, etc... If the prinipal loses he/she has to go to class for the day, serve lunch, wear a funny hat, hip/hop clothing...
Our school doubled it box tops collection by having challenges. We did football challenges, boys vs. girls, great race, and summer collections. We have been really successful since adding the challenges. I described how we do them in another post under box tops. Good luck!
We've done incentives with "pie in the face", we got the Principal if they raised so much and for additional amounts teachers would step up. Some teachers even went as far as if their own class met a goal they would do it.
We dared the principal to kiss a pig if the kids raised $1,000 in change at school... they did it in 2 weeks. We then dared the gym teacher to dye his hair green if they brought in the next 1,000. They did it in 3 weeks. This was for our playground project.
I would really like boost our Boxtop program this year. Last year, lunch for the top team (twice a year) did nothing to increase participation. Since our budget is small, I thought that a principal dare would be good. Any thoughts/ ideas on a good principal dare? We are in Middle school, 6 grade only with school divided in 9 teams.
