I am in charge of a 1980s Family Dance Night end of this month. We are having a DJ come in and play music. We are selling pizza, pop,and neon glow in the dark necklaces. We will also have a photo background to have polaroid pictures taken, and a best dressed contest. Apparently neon and metalic colors were popular back then. On my flyer I also state if people would like to lend 1980s memorablilia (posters etc.) to give me a call. The teachers are brain storming about what was popular back then. Apparently this was the rage of the cabbage patch doll. Also Michael Jackson's "Thriller" came out then as well as Miami Vice. Rent Back to the Future and other 1980s type movies to get you going. Also have parents pull out their old year books and walk down memory lane. I am sure between all the great minds you will come up with plenty of ideas.
Our school has decided to try a different approach for our Spring Fling. Instead of the popular 50's, we have chosen to go with the 80's. We are hoping this will attract the parents. Does anyone have any ideas for decorations and/or games? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
