Hi everyone. This is my first year as President of our PTL and we have run an annual auction for several years which is our big fundraiser, but I know it can be better. I would like to pick your brains so to speak for information you do to make your auctions successful. For example, do you send "general letters" out or do you directly address them to someone and if so, who? How do you find out who to address them to? Also, do you obtain large donations from corporations or individuals, such as vacation stays, airfare, limo service, etc.? I would love to do something a little different this year, like have appitizers/deserts served with the acution. Any ideas on how to get a company to donate that? Or do we just keep our snack bar working making sandwiches and snacks for attendees to purchase on their own? Any helpful hints will be greatly appreciated.
