One more thing, if that doesn't work, pass out a form for the children to give thier ideas on what they would like to do or have. This way, if they still don't like it, they can't complain.
LoriK, We have a yearly carnival and have a variety of things. Here are some ideas: Basketball (Three-point contest, free-throw contest, or just shooting the ball) Track and field events, Sand Art, Pie-in-the-face, dunking booth, horseshoes, archery, jump rope contest, hula hoop contest, cake walk (or get some small gifts and walk for those instead of cake - Fun Walk) I hope this helps you in someway to get you started.
I am looking for "new" ideas for our 6 & 7 graders. Our carnival is not a fundraiser, it is free for the students. It is our year end blow out. We have approximately 800 students and split them 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon, with a hot dog lunch in between. We have had the normal carnival games such as ring toss, plinko, bean bag throw etc. but get the same comments that these games are for little kids. I do think many children still like these games but we would like to add something different. We do like to incorporate a craft, last year we did tye-dye bandanas. Any ideas for these budding adolescents? Thanks
