I think Denise is referring to something that the PTO can physically sell on Fridays (possibly to both kids and parents).
In that case, anything imprinted with the school logo/mascot would be suitable. Examples: T-Shirts, Awareness Bracelets, Pennants, Car Magnets, Drawstring Tote Bags, Water Bottles, Pens, Pencils, Car License Plate Frames & Inserts, Window Clings, etc.
Last year was the first year we did a "Cougar Chase". We had the kids get straight monetary donations and the kids walked around the track at school. We had a dj, sprayed them with water guns/hoses and for each lap completed, they got a little jelly bracelet.
We raised over $8000 before expenses. This fundraiser took the place of our Jump Rope for Heart.
The State of Louisiana has toughen the laws on selling of snack foods during school hours. Our PTO has been selling candy/snacks each Friday for years. These candy sales are about $3000 of our yearly income. We need to find something to replace the candy/snack sales. Please send your suggestions, we are at a lost!
