We just got our first check for $136 from Cartridges for Kids. This was for 3 boxes of stuff and I was surprised. I didn't really inventory it --just packed it up, stuck a pre-paid label on it, called for a pick-up and that's it. Really pretty easy. I just sent off our second shipment of 3 boxes. I'll be curious to see what this shipment brings.

We have been doing this for 3 years now and use Kash for Kids and Cartridges for Kids and they are both great just use the one that gives the most for each item. We make about $1500.00 each year! It is so simple and no cost to you at all Cartridges for Kids will even send you preprinted flyers and no shipping charge from either company and checks come quickly!

Our elementary school PreS-5, uses Cartridges for Kids. We have a few volunteers who sign up to help in the office when we ship everything back. Our school has 220 kids, we made over $260 last year.

They have a great business sponsor program where local companies can designate your school to receive the profits from their recycling. CFK sends them a display box, shipping guidelines, shipping labels and detailed information about the program - you get the $$. We have 2 business sponsors but it's on our PTA list to send out their flyer (they sent my 100 free) this month and see if we can attract more partners.

I know that at work, public library, we use Funding Factory, for different technology items, and have gotten some neat things.

I'm going to check with out techie person in charge of this to find out if it would be worth it for our school.

Our school uses Funding Factory and has earned a computer for our school and are planning on redeeming the cartridges and phones that we have earned so far this year for cash and are expecting around $1400.00 The only drawback is that they do not take reconditioned cartridges (store/cheaper brand) but it is probably a matter of educating the parents of what they will and won't take. Some stores - like Office Depot - will redeem the ineligible cartridges for a ream of copy paper. Which can also help the school save money and get supplies.

We used Kash for Kids when I was prez. I think that the company has been switched now. The other elementary school used this company too if I am not mistaken but they also used the Funding Factory for cartridges that Kash for Kids would not buy and cell phones.

It seems to me someone on this site had trouble with a company from out west that didn't want to pay them for their cartridges. We've had a lot of luck from this program. All of our money goes into our computer lab. I think one year we made almost $1,000.00. Even if you don't make very much money you are helping out the environment. ;)
