Another easy game is to hang an old tire up with rope and have the kids try to throw a football through it. Have them stand back at different distances according to age.

Instead of a Cake Walk we changed ours to a Candy Walk and ask parents to send in full size candy bars for the winners. MUCH easier than using baked goods.
We got the bugs at the dollar store. They are not the hard plastic, but more the squishy plastic. That's kind of how we got the idea. My son threw them at my windshield!
