Our "school" has always used the box top money in their school fund. It ALL goes back to the students in one form or another so we don't have a problem with it. We also inform our parents each time a check is sent to us and how much it was . . .that keeps our parents sending in the box tops.
Our principal uses that money to by the awards for the monthly assemblies . ..awards go to perfect attendance, honor roll, good citizenship and more . .
I'm pretty sure our district will give out school budget info upon request. Whatever money our principal gets goes back into the school fund and is used however she sees fit. If your group is running the box tops program, why aren't you having the check made out to the PTO?
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
Our PTT has learned of how much money can be made with the Box Tops. Now, here's the problem. Our principal keeps this money and isn't too eager to tell us what exactly she does with this money. Anybody else run into this problem? We will approach this at our next meeting but it definitely is a sticky situation!
