Just an FYI - I am president of a non-profit who has also used Scrip Advantage for the last two years. Thought I'd share a notice I found on the website of America's Schools, which has licensed Scrip Advantage. They are ostensibly in the midst of climbing out their serious financial hole and claim that they will be clearing out their backorders in the next month. www.americas-schools.org/ASP-SAI-Update.pdf
Our school has used Scrip Advantage for about two years and beginning in July, started to have trouble with backorders. We were told by SA that they were just re-negotiating contracts with the vendors and not to worry. Thnigs got worse and the LA diocese has been working the the DA in Fresno and is filing a complaint against them. Our school was lucky in that we stopped using them a while ago and got our money refunded for scrip not received.
To Juls of Visalia. I would love to get in touch with your bookkeeper. I was afraid of they would string us along until they could claim BK. I understand it's a little more difficult to do these days, so maybe we'll get lucky and they won't be able to. My e-mail is This email address is being protected from spambots. We live in Visalia, CA, about 45 minutes from Fresno. Our school just left Scrip Advantage because of their financial problems, and the story about them was on the news this morning. We were told they are in the process of going bankrupt... if any of you would like to speak to our bookkeeper, who takes care of our scrip, please let me know and I can put you in contact with her.
Julie, PTF President
PS We just switched to Great Lakes and so far so good! And they have a lot more stores and restaraunts too.

Kind of like the difference between a fish and a tree. I imagine that escrip is wishing "scrip" wasn't in its name right about now.
Scrip Advantage and other scrip companies involve fairly large transfers of cash and faith. If you've sent in a $20,000 scrip order, then you're at the mercy of your scrip provider for the 3-7 days it takes to get your order back.
eScrip on the other hand is more of a marketing program, largely centered on credit cards. Big difference (and these days we can see why it's a huge difference) is that supporters and groups don't have to outlay cash to participate. While it's possible a company like escrip could struggle, they won't struggle while holding $20,000 of your dollars.
