Try sending an email, putting a mention in the parent group newsletter, and posting an announcement on Facebook and/or Twitter if your school's parent group has those accounts.
How do you advertise the Mitten Tree in your school and community? I am spearheading the first mitten tree at our elementary school this year and I need some help.
Our school does a mitten tree. We put up a tree in the fron foyer and the children bring in hats and mittens for our sister school, an inner city school that has many needy families. When we break for Christmas, the hats and mittens are shipped to the school for them to disperse as neeeded.
Our church also does their version of a mitten tree. The have paper cut-outs of mittens and each mitten has a gift listed on it. People select a "mitten" and purchase that item. On a set date, the item is returned to church, gift wrapped, with the paper mitten attached so they know what is in the package. The gifts are distributed to a parish that has many needy families.
