I love the idea being a scrapper myself but when I talk to people at my son's school most look at me like I have 2 heads. But I thinks it would be lots of fun! Good Luck!!!
Last month I attended a 12 hour scrap crop put on by the local church to help fund their day care center.
I talked to the organizer (A LOT!!) LOL! The barebones rundown is this. Scrapers pay a fee to attend ($30 for 12 hr., $15 for 6 hr.). For this they have a spot at a table, all day snacks, lunch, dinner (1 or the other for 6 hr.) and demos/make & take from product consultants (stamping, etc.)
This is a self-funding event since the entry fee is paid in advance.
You get local stores to donate scrapbook and non-scrapbook products for raffles (as well as products and services from parents who own businesses; i.e., pampered chef, avon, gift cert. from restaurant). So you make money on raffle tickets as well. You can also hold a 50/50 drawing.
You can also get a "Creative Memories" consultant to hold a beginners class that scrapers would pay an additional fee for (work with them to bring the cost down around $7 - $10).
Sounds great right? Now all I have to do it get it all worked out on paper and hope the PTO board can see the benefit.
By the way, I'm going to another crop by the same organizer for her son's school in mid May. This will be the 3rd crop the school has held. The first one they made $3,200, the second $3,340.00. This is quite profitable.
So what do y'all think? Is this something that you would like to see at your school?

If scrapping was like the military my wife would be in the Special Forces. She is a dedicated scrapper and has the gear to show for it LOL. She would like to know if a scrapping fundraiser would get a high turnout at a school. I know one of our teachers put down scrapping as their favorite hobbie on their survey.
Debbie, I've been here a L O N G time and that's a new one to me!! I've been to a couple but mainly as a way my dear friends use to get me outta the house for a night!!
What are you planning...don't think you are going to not share a good idea now!!
I've looked all over this forum and haven't seen anyone mention an all day scrapbook crop as a fundraiser.
I'm putting together a packet to bring up at the next PTO meeting and I'm wondering if anyone has been involved in this type of fundraiser? If so, I would like to get your opinion on it.
Thank you,
