A Different Scrip Company

No, I'm not affiliated. Actually, the school I worked for was one of the schools that got caught up in the Scrip Advantage mess. I'm just grateful that they had one employee that had some integrity and it really pissed me off when I read posts slamming her.

If I had to guess, I'd say fresnoclassroom works for or is affiliated with the new scrip company. Which is OK (and somewhat irrelevant), but....

My question is like Shawn's:

Is it charged when the order ships from the scrip center?

Or is it charged when I get the scrip in my hands?

If it's the former, then there's really the same element of risk/trust involved, no?

Is it still through electronic checking account debits? (lots of control for scrip vendor) Or can I send in a check after I receive my scrip in my hands? (maybe scrip could be deactivated until you get my check?)

I realize that some of my questions/wishes may be undoable or make the business not work, but I think the skepticism and extra-care we're seeing from parent group leaders is warranted (based on history of this type fundraising).

Many of the scrip vendors who've gone out of business have done so because of cash flow issues. Now this new company wants to get its cash *later* than the old companies did???? Interested to hear more about what other changes and safeguards are in place to make it work.

Is it actually ships or invoices? There is a difference. I order- I pay- I get invoice- I get scrip delivered.

Do you trully order scrip -- get it delivered to school/PTA/PTO- then pay.

Our school s have never done scrip but from everthing I've seen from any company- I'd never pay a scrip co (or any company I do business with in the REAL world) any amount till the scrip was sitting in my hands- even if this girl is the coolest nicest person-- from what I've been able to glean from finacial and business records/ account the Coyles, her and some of her co-workers are at the new co-- the Coyles scrip co's made their $$$ -- the old fashion way the stole it

Would anyone seriously buy -- from them -- even -- IF the product arrived first then you paid -- I'd have a big problem with my childrens school doing any scrip let alone with a co that might be working with the people-- IF it smells fishy, it usually is fishy-- or SPAM I hate spam unless its in a SPAMquadilla, Spamchili, SPAM in a blanket, SPAM grilled with coolbeer and onion (ala Brats) and that's how they're getting info out about this new DEAL--- WILL Robinson --DANGER-- Will Robinson!!!!!!

ie. Mark Grudzelniak (of the KC Royals - 12 losing seasons- 100+ losses) maybe one of the nicest MLB players that I've ever met-- but if the Royals send him to recruit and draft my LHP son--I'm gonna laugh

I know alot of people had problems with Scrip Advantage last year (our school was one of them) but I can't believe that anyone who actually worked with Raelynn has the audacity to say one negative thing about how she handled anything.

Yes, Scrip Advantage caused serious hardships for many non-profits. But when we were out thousands of dollars in scrip money, Raelynn was the one we could count on to actually RETURN our phone calls. She held our hands through the worst of it and did an amazing job of getting scrip to us (in whatever form she could) to settle our account.

So direct your anger where it should be - at Scrip Advantage - NOT at the only employee with enough integrity and character to see us all through the tough times.

So now that she's working for another scrip company, are we to assume that she was responsible for whatever financial mistakes her last employer made? Personally, I'm more comfortable with a company that would hire her after the way she stuck by her clients. It shows that they care about how well we are taken care of.

Aside from all that, have you read what they're offering? They won't charge us until it ACTUALLY SHIPS! So... we know that they have a fantastic sales rep and a no risk program. What do we have to lose?

I will second your warning. On March 8,06, our school received an e-mail from Raelynn Prandino, from scrip advantage, signed Robert Coyle to give us an update on SA proceeding with Chapter 11. On August 21, we received another e-mail from Raelynn welcoming us to new england Scrip and wanting us to use their scrip program. I cannot believe she would have the guts to do this when SA owes us $7,000.

Unless New England has had a change of ownership, it was small and owned by 1 man. They were great for us, as they had many local merchants that GLScrip did not. NES was very small (1 girl in office) and had trouble keeping up with orders. During our "trial run" with a scrip program, the PTO Prez was so against it that I got really nervous about anything going wrong... so when NES wasn't coming through with one of our orders, I drove 40 miles to their office to pick the order up personally. And I really had to stay on their butts to get it finished. Other than that they were great.. but this was 2 years ago.

I NEVER had a problem with GLScrip. If they back-order anything, they let you know. If they mess up anything, they fix it right away. Their website is great for keeping coordinators up to date. I love GLScrip and am planning to start a scrip program in our new school.

You have to keep the program heavily advertised or people will forget. Everyone at our school who tried it, loved it. We had a large percentage of our purchasers from OUTSIDE the school.. as in grandparents, friends, etc. Our program was going great. The money comes in slow, but very regular. I think everyone should do scrip!! Just research the company first.. check out www.ripoffreport.com and do a "scrip" search on the PTO Today boards..
