Thank you all so much for the tip about the "special one time code". I didn't find that tidbit on Campbell's website, so you saved me the discomfort of throwing out 1,000's of labels. Thought I'd bump this up for anyone that missed it.
We did the same at our school. Our chairperson was very upset by the way campbells handled this. Every year we have a big contest in february so people stock pile them. Now we will run this contest in November and get them all in and give parent time to adjust to the new clipping rules.
A post under Free For all by chgpta says "FYI: if you call the Campbell's Labels for Education hotline, they will give you a code that you can use one time only to submit those last front labels prior to December 31, 2006, so don't throw those out."
Anyone checked out their new packet of info for the Campbell's program this year??? You might be in for a nasty surprise if you are carrying labels over from last year.
They made some positive changes to the program (a fair number of items are now worth 5 points, and there is more consistency in what you have to clip), but effective August 1, they are not taking any labels. Unfortunately for us, we didn't bank a few hundred at the end of last year, because it was a relatively small amount and the postage would have been too much. Now those are worthless.
It's not like this was some plan that someone just dreamed up last week....you'd think they could have notified the coordinators in advance! Hope there aren't many out there holding on to an awful lot of labels.
