Following is a letter I sent to businesses that donated (cash or similar) to us as we were/are trying to raise funds to replace all the maps and globes in our school (they are original from 23 years ago).

Dear <persons name>,
The spirit of giving back to one’s community is alive and well in <our town>. And for that, we give many thanks!
Over the past year, the <school PTO> has worked hard to broaden our circle of support and build win-win relationships. We've succeeded in extending our efforts beyond the school's community to partner successfully with our local community. Through partnerships with local organizations and businesses, we've been able to support and promote programs and events for local charities, the village and, of course, our kids! I'm happy to say we have received many expressions of appreciation for these partnership efforts – providing our partners with the recognition they rightly deserve.
We want to thank you for supporting us, our goals – and the spirit of community giving. This year our organization put forth a very challenging goal, and because of your support, we are that much closer to achieving it. We know we will be a better organization when the year ends because of the productive relationships we've built with supporters like you.
On behalf of our Executive Board, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation. Together we have an incredible opportunity to create a bright future for our children. And that's something we can all be thankful for!
Could you please post the thank you letters that you send to your donors? I am writing the thank you notes for the contributions for our fundraiser and need some ideas.
