We are hosting a catered luncheon for the teachers/staff on Thursday. Our school is under construction. We created door knob hangers that read "Under Construction... Building the future one kid at a time" and also thank you to the teachers to be hung on each door knob. We also decorating the PTO bulletin board with black and yellow to tie in the construction theme and posting facts that are pro-public schools and our district in particular. If you are still interested in more ideas the American Education Week web site has a ton of ideas. Go to www.nea.org/aew.
Good luck!
Our PTA hosts a teacher luncheon for all of the staff, custodians, and teachers. In the past there was never an emphasis that this was from the kids, but this year we are putting that emphasis in effect. We are going to ask each class parent to arrange to have a giant card made by the students in their class (during recess or lunch) with the kids writing their thank you remarks. then at the luncheon we are going to hang these up for all the staff, teachers administration to see. We will also be sending a flyer home with each student advising the parents that the PTA hosts this event, but it is a gift from each child in the school to the staff, teachers, and administrators.
Bus drivers we haven't figured out yet.
hi, we are also k-5. the pta provides a lunch for the teachers on wednesday. We are also doing daily raffles for the teachers. That's pretty much it. the parents are invited to eat lunch with their child on a specific day... monday for 1st grade, tuesday for 2nd grade, etc. It isn't very exciting from the pta standpoint.... we don't do much.
Help! We need ideas for American Education Week. So far we have snacks in the teacher's lounge but how can we get the students involved? Our school is K-5. What about something for the cooks, bus drivers, etc?
