We had a magician come and cut off the principal's head.... We only did that part of the show for the 2nd-6th graders, though. I can't remember what the magician did for the preK-1st graders.
I love the idea about the gym being open after school for a student and their friends to use. We may have to use that for a prize. We are looking at having our principal kiss a pig but wondered if anyone had any other cute ideas. Thanks to each of you for your replies.
How about send a teacher to "jail?" Maybe them dress up in prisoner clothes. However, some kids might have family members in jail, so that might not be a good idea after all.
How about make a teacher dress like a clown, or the opposite sex?
We have only done a few of these, like kiss the pig, shave the head. We did something for our Silent Auction last year that was very popular though, and that was items from our staff members like-going out to lunch, or a movie. Pizza party during lunch time, principal for a day, the P.E. teacher donated time after school and opened the gym to a student and 4 friends to do whatever they wanted.
If you want an incentive for the whole school these might not work, but in case you are looking for a more selective contest, even if it's the top class-sometimes we do the top class in K-3 and 4-6 each get a pizza/ice cream/popcorn party as incentive for PTO membership drive, fundraising contests, etc...
I am wondering if any one has an idea for incentives for the children that involve staff members such as: Turning the principal into a Sundae if you raise X amount of dollars. Or the vice principal will shave his head or kiss a pig or something along those lines. We have traditionally done this but we are running out of ideas and we are running out of time. Thanks in advance for any ideas!
