I am wondering how you make your money from the carnivals? Do you charge per game/activity?
Do you do basket/silent auctions with your auction?
I appreciate any insight.
Do you have a novelty store in your area? I know ours rents things like bean bag toss, wheel of fortune, etc. They also have all of the prizes that you would need for the games.
Another company that I received information from this year is
Jimmie Conti & Sons.
They are based out of Louisville, KY, and I don't know if they do events out of state, but you might want to take a look at their site. On the paper that I have it states that carnvial-style games are FREE if you spend $45 in prizes on each. It also states that all merchandise is on consignment and all prizes are returnable to the piece with no restocking fees.
As we haven't done a carnival, I don't know if what I typed above is really as good a deal as it sounds to me right now. So if any of the experts in this area have better ideas, I would listen to them.
Well I live in Akron, Ohio and I wanted to rent the games does anyone know where to rent the games from? I have been looking and the places are saying 600-900 a game. That's way too expensive. I am not looking for impressive games just something to rent for fun.
For anyone trying to sell a product/service, especially to non-profits, I really appreciate when they provide helpful free information. I figure if they are willing to do that, I'm certainly willing to consider them as a supplier.
As Gracee said, OT also publishes a (free) carnival guide as well as some worksheets and tips. But sometimes that page is easier to find than others. Here's the direct
link
Hi, I have used school carnival.com and Oriental Tranding.com. OT has a section on tips for a carnival it's 34 pages long but a wealth of information on planning your first carnival.
However, my favorite was school carnival.com.
There, they broke everything down and made everything so easy. Take a look, it should help you get started.
Good Luck, Gracee
