We're did it last fall and we're going to do it again for a Cinco De Mayo themed sale. We think this can become a healthy version of the Girl Scout cookie craze. A lot of parents have been asking when we are doing it again.
We had samples by our first meeting and went with it. We sold for 2 weeks gave the kids 10 days to turn in the orders. Once the order was submitted we had the salsa in around 3 weeks. We even had some late orders after we submitted the final total and was able to add it to the order.
We planned it 1 1/2 months out and had a scheduled pickup date at the school for the kids or parents to get the salsa. It actually went smoother than expected. The salsa is jarred so there's no refrigeration involved.
