I used to work for PictureMe and it there is no catch. It's the best fundraiser I've ever seen. Basically they donate the picture in hopes that when whoever comes in after purchasing the certficiate, will buy more pictures because the cert is for only one pose.

Beautiful! Thanks for the input! There is only so much room to put details on those cards, and sometimes the words "certain restrictions apply" mean so much more to some companies than they do others. I think that with the ability to select the pose, utilize enhancements and have as many in the sitting as you want, you won't beat that deal anywhere (including my studio LOL!!). Kudos to PictureMe for an offer like this, it's virtually unheard of!

Just a little information to answer some questions & clarify what is being offered by Easy Fundraising (easy-fundraising-ideas.com). Easy Fundraising is a very reputable company that has been providing excellent customer service and fundraising opportunities to organizations for over 10 years. The president, Howard Gottlieb, worked directly with PictureMe Portrait Studios to create a unique portrait product (the very trendy square photos) for the fundraising cards. As with most other fundraising programs, one fundraising card entitles the bearer to one portrait product per visit.

The product is a set of 3 square portraits –one 8x8 and two 5x5s (of the same image). You can select any image from the session, no limit on number of people in the pic (as long as they can fit in the frame! There is no sitting fee & you can even add a free enhancement if you like (black and white, sepia, vignettes, borders, etc.) The only other restrictions are the inability to combine with other offers or the in-studio one-pose package. All our PictureMe Portrait Studios honor the fundraising cards. No purchase necessary.

Might be more than you wanted to know, but wanted to help since I happened to see this!

I have done some research and found the card that you were offered. The only concern I would have at this point is the disclaimer "certain restrictions apply". It does 'appear' that the free sitting fee may apply to the whole family. However, I would contact your local walmart photo studio to see if/how they would honor the coupon. Keep in mind, the fundraising site specifically states that you should check your zip code to see if any of the locations near you actually accept the coupon!

Without seeing the actual promotion, advice will be hard to offer! I can offer some info/insight from personal experiece.

Although I am a self-employed photographer now, I got my start years ago working for companies such as Lifetouch (Target, JC Penney's) and PictureMe! (Walmart), I can tell you that the offer that you received is going to be difficult to sell. Lifetouch and PictureMe! often offer coupons to the public in bulk that offer more significant discounts than what whichever fundraiser group has offered you (Lifetouch just released one that offers free sitting fees and you choice of a portrait package or $3.99 a sheet...with the coupon you have been offered, chances are really high that the parents will not get to select the pose and the portrait may be limited to one person, leaving families of multiple children paying around $10 extra per additional child in the shot! In addition, read the fine print of what you are being offered...most likely if a parent purchases the voucher they are either only allowed to redeem one per visit and sometimes it is even only one per FAMILY!). You would be better off attempting to negotiate a deal directly through Lifetouch or PictureMe!.

I'm new here, and looked through some of the topics and didn't see this one mentioned. This is my first year as PTO president, and in fact, up until this year, our school PTO has consisted of one teacher. No parents, just a teacher. So we are all new to this! On average, we have a very low income group of families...people who can't afford the $15 cookies or candles.

I received an email from a fundraising site offering photo cards that are redeemable at the portrait studios in Walmart...they sell for $10 each and include a sitting fee, (1) 8x8 and (2) 5x5 photos. I figure that everyone wants pictures of their kids, so this might be a good seller for our school.

Being new to all of this, though, I am hesitant to jump into an agreement with a company I am not familiar with. I don't know if I can even post the name of the site (might be considered an ad? not sure...) but I am wondering if anyone has heard of this particular fundraiser.
