HI, We use a loal rep with a company called Kids Korner, some of the items are not my taste, but kids all have different taste and so do moms and dads , grandmas and grandpas will love anything, same with sibs. I still have a necklace from 15 years ago, a >25 cent heart that my son bought ? not even cubic/and I still get compliments. So for a quarter, and a childs smile, I would let the professional worry about product, sales , and profits!!
My understanding is the profit was about 1/2 as the years before.....Was convenient to have everything delivered...but I would rather donate my time and make $$$$.
We are a elementary school of 300, and qualify for "universal free breakfast", so we are a rather low income school. We have done SSS for a few years now, and LOVE it!!! We select the profits, the type of merchandise and when to do the sale. It is quite easy. The students do go crazy. Items are priced at $.25-$12. The company's customerservice is AWESOME-with never a problem. If we are short on items, it will be at my home that night, or the next day. I highly reccommend the easy way of SSS for only 1 week of work. You set the hours, the profit and make the sale all about the students. Especially at the Holiday time, when everyone is so busy, you don't need the extra work and hassle. Let SSS do it for you!!!
I have done it both ways. To be honest I think doing it yourself is the way to go if you don't mind the extra work. By doing it ourself we saw our profit go from $800 to $3000 and the parents were much happier about the prices and selection then they had been in the past. We buy products at the closeout prices and sell them for double which is still cheaper than the companies. The first year we invested $400 in a awesome cash register with a scanner and software. On items without labels that we bought we just made our own. Every year we have said we would go and have half price day on the last day to finish getting rid of the merchandise and it has never even gotten to that point! We usually sell out on day four! Good Luck!
Hi, Just wondering if anybody had any experience with using Santa's Secret Shop for their school's Santa Shop fundraiser. If so, was the merchandise good, prices reasonable, as profitable as purchasing the items yourself, would you do it again???
