The phone collection was quite interesting.....the $ amount value was based on the phone model. We received anywhere from $1 to $100 per phone. They gave us a printout showing the model numbers and values. We were amazed how many families just had their old phones laying around from the past 5 or so years.
We received some information from them several months ago and applied online. We were set up the next day. They even sent us flyers and letters that we can use.
People think that they collect empty ink cartridges but actually they sell new ink and toner. They have a cartridge collection program but you have to ask for it. We collected cartridges in the past but it was messy and only some parents turned them in.
This program is totally online. Once we get the word out that's it. The orders that people are placing are averaging $70+ (I am told this is higher than average) so that means that every time someone orders we get $7. I don't think that it will replace the other fundraisers that we do but every bit helps.
Additional easy and successful fundriasers we have done over the years are collecting old mobile phones and used ink cartridges. There are several fundraiser organizations out there to choose from.
Our school just started using this company and the response from parents has been great. Our other fundraisers are way down due to the economy.
It is really simple - even simpler than box tops. It all online and there is nothing to collect. We just put a note in our monthly newsletter and if someone orders we get credit. I am not sure how much we will earn but since we do not really have to do much it is all profit. Take a look they have a video here : www.inkfunds.com/Articles.asp?ID=145
