scripts program for small town public school?

It doesn't cost anything to try. But do keep in mind that you must have enough orders to justify shipping costs which run $7-$10. If you could get a core group of at least 10 people to commit to making orders each time you offer, it could work. spread the word, use the marketing tools on their website and don't get discouraged if it takes time to show good results.

In our school we have less than 200 kids. Which makes way less families. One important way to market this to your families is that this fundraiser does not cost families any more that what they would normally spend on Gas and Groceries or buying gifts for special occasions.

The only problem with this fundraiser is getting people into the habit of using it. We have been using it for the past 6 years now and do very well with it. But it is definately one that you really have to work on in the begining.

We also have gone outside of the scrip program and added our own area businesses. For example we have a local restaurant that everyone loves that will sell us their gift cards for 10% less than its value. So on those ones we make much more $$. Another good place to get extras from is area salons. (I hope that made sense)

Something tells me you may want to take it slow and not replace a fundraiser that works for you without testing the waters first.

Can you can work up to it without the risk of not reaching your goals? Just seems like you would want a bit more of a guarantee of success in the short-term before getting rid of a profitable fundraiser.

We are considering giving the scripts program a try and see if it might be an option for replacing our current wrapping paper fundraiser. The resistance has been the small returns. We make about 10k currently and that is the only fundraiser we have to run. Is scripts something that will have similar earning potential within a year or so?
