I'd agree with FoxMom. Advertise it so families can prepare around it. But don't do it the week before Thanksgiving. Many families are preparing to go out of town and you will have fewer volunteers and attendees.
Good luck!

We've had good turnouts at different times of the month-- some families get paid the third week of each month or every other week-- I think the niggest thing to do whatever date you pick-- is to advertise ahead of time to the students and parents the date and time and what you will have there so they can put money aside for the event.
Our PTSO is trying to decide a date for Fall Festival. The company we get the games and inflatables from said it is not a good idea to have the festival in the middle of the month (people have more money at the beginning of the month to spend). Over 50% of our students are on free or reduced lunch, so we are not a wealthy community. There are very few dates that seem to suit our principal. The PTSO had chosen Nov. 6th, but the principal is wanting to have it on Oct. 24th or Nov. 13th, 14th, 20th or 21st. Does anyone have an idea for a good time of the month for the festival? Thanks
