We are mailing flyers for our annual raffle. I don't want to use a bulk mail company, becuase we are already spending around $2,000 and that is way over our original budget. I have done bilk mailings before, just not a saturation mailing.
It's been ages since I've done and bulk mailing and it was for work. But I can point you a couple places. First, you need to talk to someone at the post office about "bulk mail". Pick a time that's not "prime time" and call or visit one of the larger stations. I wouldn't fully trust any word of mouth information. There are many special requirements Second, make sure you are taking advantage of any special postage classifications to save as much as possible. When we did these at work, we found it economical to use a bulk mail company that specialized in these services. The amount we saved on postage was generally more than their fee.
Hi. Has anyone here every done a saturation mailing before? (A mailing to everyone who lives in a certain zip code) Our PTO is doing our first one, and we have a few questions (and of course, trying to ask anyone at the Post Office for help is a joke.)
My specific questions are: we would like to do a saturation mailing to the 5 zip codes that most of our students in our high school come from. 4 of the cities have rural routes and 1 has city carrier routes. My understanding is that in the ones with rural routes we can just address the envelope Postal Customer and then the name of the city without actually putting an address on the envelope. Is this correct? Also, on the city carrier routes, my understanding is that you must put an address on every envelope and a barcode. Is this correct?
If you have done saturation mailings before and can give me any help, please email me at ypessin@nhvweb.net
