We just held our annual FUN RUN and silent auction. We cleared 25,000.00 cash! Last year we raised approx. 35,000.00 in one event. It takes a couple of months to get it organized. Lots of schools do fun run type of fundraisers because they raise a lot of funds- fast. Doners give a one time donation or a per lap donation and the students run laps and collect the $ and turn it in to the school. We also solicit corporate sponsors promising they will receive some sort of advertisement, i.e., there name on a sign in the gym, on the back of a t-shirt or in a school wide phone book. We also have every class donate a themed basket for a silent auction. The parents really love this and some baskets go for 500.00+ And its lots of fun. We have the upper classes make carnival booths as a competition for a day off school and a pizza party. The lower school children love the carnival and our FUN RUN is an anual event everyone looks forward to. We play loud music and make it fun! Each class also sells strips of paper in our school colors for .50 that will be made into a spirit chain.(kinda like the paper chains we made in pre-school) At the end of the day we line up all the chains to see which class has the longest one and that class wins a pizza party. Its way fun!!! I hope this helps if you need further info just give me a holler.
