Interesting,
No doubt this will be one of the most difficult years for non-profit fundraisers given how severe the recession is impacting most areas. Everyone knows about the usual fundraisers, and as we also know, volunteers do not like to sell anything, especially overpriced cookie dough, wrapping paper and candy bars.
We have all seen the same campaigns fall short more each year, and this is why I research only free fundraisers, because what is everyone looking for in a recession? Everyone wants to save money, not spend it, so when you decide on a fundraiser, look for true verifiable value first and foremost.
Value is what everyone is looking for, convenience is also high on the list, and for our valued volunteers, no selling. Sad to say, there are not many fundraisers which can meet or exceed these points, but there are a couple, you just have to look a little harder as they are just now starting to emerge knowing the need is great.
When donors can save money on what they are already purchasing elsewhere, they will gladly help your non-profit organization. When volunteers can save money while raising funds for their fundraiser, they too are glad to help. Since transfer buying is not selling, it is telling, volunteers love to help while they themselves are saving money.
With so many more concerned about unemployment, it is much more difficult to attract volunteers as more dual income families have put extra demand on the free time available to help with local fundraisers. I am certain this is not new to most involved, but it is getting worse as the unemployment rates are over 10% in many areas of the country.
A simple solution is a fundraiser which not only raises funds for your organization, but it also rewards your volunteers and donors by saving hundreds, if not thousands per year for average families nationwide. Think of Amazon and Walmart to understand the concept. Then think of Sam's Club, Costco and BJ's without the membership fees, and you will see the vision and goal of this organization which in itself is a fundraiser feeding starving children worldwide.
Easy fundraisers are harder to find these days, free fundraisers are even more difficult, and we know first hand the obstacles all non-profit organizations are faces with. How difficult is it to tell donors that they can save hundred, if not thousands of dollars by simply using the concept of transfer buying of the same name brand products they are already purchasing at higher prices.
If that were not enough of a reason to research this new fundraiser, then how about rewarding donors and volunteers with an option to earn an extra income while raising the same funds for their favorite local charity and at the same time, feed a starving child for a full week with each purchase. I have seen it all, but never have I seen all these issues addressed within one organizations program. Since there is no selling, and totally free to join, no cost, no risk and as easy as it gets while everyone benefits equally, everyone should research this new era in fundraisers.
As an extra incentive which encourages local businesses to get involved, there is also a free discount RX Prescription Card which is also provided everyone which will save everyone without health insurance or prescription coverage will save up to 75% at all major pharmacies nationwide, plus save on lab work, MRI's and similar needs saving thousands for many in need. By simply handing out these cards, you have no idea how many people in need will be grateful, and how they will show it is by sharing these savings with others. A perpetual income will develop which will grow and grow with no administration headaches, it is all handled by company. You can now raise unlimited funds without it costing anyone a dime, just a little time telling, not selling.
I hope everyone has a successful year with your specific fundraisers.
Success to all, Mike
