Last year Market Day and Market Day catalog brought in over $12000 in profit. The sales were down from the year before. I do not know all the details as to how it all works as I do not chair it. I know the basics. We collect orders monthly and have one pick up date per month as well. My job as president is to make sure it continues to run smoothly. I can get you some contact info if you like. email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The take home folder program seems to be working! Even our membership is up from last year! Cross your fingers this continues.
Thanks!
We always go around to collect any kind of orders. Our Market Day chair calls individuals in case the order is lost for regular customers if there is no order by the deadline to make sure. For a while we had a volunteer to make calls.
Just how much do you make if this is your main fund-raiser?
Could somebody please expalin Market Day to me. One of our parents approached me about running this program at our school and gave me the information but I am still confused! Thank you.
Thanks for the ideas. We do always encourage our families to order online as that is the easiest. We are implimenting a take home folder for our jr. high families. Cross your fingers that this works!
You could also encourage that families place their order online. There are no worries of getting the order turned in that way. They can either pay online with a credit card or at least get their order placed online and still pay at the sale. I place my order this way every month - it's so much easier.
You could have a specific envelope in each class that the teachers put marketday orders in and you could pick these up at the end of the sale turn in time frame-- that way there's no chance of mis-placing the order form... or you could add to the fliers to please send an email to the pto if you place an order this month so you can watch for their order form to come in-- this way you know who is ordering from market day for that month and who to watch out for.
