QSP is a magazine fundraiser company; we used to do a catalog drive but sales are way down; however, those who buy want to be able to renew. So we are switching to their online only sales program; we still get 40%, people can order, or renew all year long.
We started this last year, sent out a few reminders; only 8 people called, but that was $400 for us! The 8 that did it (me included of course) said it took less than 5 minutes. How easy is that? This year we will promote it more and put a link on our web page, to that and all our "no effort" fundraisers (boxtops4education, QSP's online sales program (no catalogs), Target, Office Depot, Tyson Labels.... We think of that all as "free money."
Because you are asking people to "commit" to something. People know that things can change at any given time, and that's something they don't necessarily want to do. Sounds simple, but you have to go out and find those directtv users and ask them to do it, not just send out a flyer and hope it works. It still take work to raise money.
If you sign up as a new customer, your school gets $100. If an exsiting customer calls and commits to another year, your school gets $50. I called and did it just because we have had it for 4 or 5 years and I am not going to change, so why not call and commit to another year and get the school $50. Oh, and the year I did it, they also offered a $50 Best buy gift card, or portable dvd player. So worth it!
It is called directv4schools.
