Thanks for the ideas. We decided to do the little bitty self inflate balloons. Have a few parents upset no big mylar balloons, they said just sell to kids that don't ride bus.........like that would be so fair to the bus riders..don't think so. Some parents!!, all I can do to keep from knockin' them in the head!
Not sure where you're located but you can get silk carnations cheaper through a company called the "Flower Factory" and they do have a web-site. Prices are very reasonable.
With real, try going to your yellow pages for a wholesaler instead of a florist... you should be able to get a better deal-- or Sam's Club-- you can order as many as you want as a pre-order from them-- they'll order whatever you are looking for and their prices is very good as well.
Most Florists can't match their price.
Does anyone do carnations or other flowers? Oriental Trading has 1 dozen silk roses for $3.00. I was just trying to figure out whick would be better-real or the silk ones. Any opinions?
You could do Valentine Grams-- where parents can fill out a form to have a short message sent to their children with a heart sucker or other Valentine candy attached... and kids can send one to other kids as well.
We charge 1.00 per Gram and make about 600.00 on the event-- we donate ours to the Heart Assoc. but this could be done as a fundraiser-- We send home a note with a page of 5 grams on it for parents or kids to fill out.
These are then delivered either on Valentines day or the day of our Valentines party.
good luck!
We decided not to sale valentine balloons this year based on complaints from some parents and our bus drivers. It's hard for our drivers to see with all the balloons on the bus. Have heard of other schools dropping their balloon sales too due to safety. The balloon sale was a big money maker for us, but just thinking about accidents that might happen......not worth it. Anybody have any idea what could take the place of a balloon in our valentine bag?
