Doing it for the kids!

We found several breast cancer awareness items (jpens, calendars, bookmarks, etc. at Oriental Trading that we bought for Moms. We also went to our local dollar stores and bought nice coffee mugs and some ceramic boots, snowmen, etc. that had rope handles on them. We filled these with candy bars(full size) we purchased after Halloween at Target and peanuts and crackers we got at Sams wholesale club and put in clear cellophane bags. They made really nice gifts that were already wrapped. We also picked up nice pens from discountmugs.com (blank ones) tool sets from Rhode Island Novelty (rinovelty.com) as well as some other items. For Moms, we got stationery sets, magnetic memo pads, organizers, Avon lip glosses (from Amazon.com), ornaments, etc. At our shop, all items sell for $1, $2, and $3. We use red, yellow and green stickers for prices and hang stop signs on the wall with the prices listed. This is probably too late for this year, but maybe you can use next year.

We Had Discussed Having A X-mas Store This Yr But We Ran Out Of Time...something That Was Brought Up While We Were Talking About It Is To Have Pre-cut Paper, Lots Of Tape Dispensers And As They Come Up You Can Help/monitor The Child As They Wrap The Gifts Themselves The Children In 1st And Up Would Probally Be Able To Handle It On Their Own..the Ones In Kindergarten And Younger Will Need Assistance Be Sure To Have A Lot Of Table Room

I am going to send some paper and tape home with a few parents.
We are going to make an envelope type thing.

Another suggestion is to have older Girl Scout troops make up the bags. They get service points along with helping you out.

We also use a local store for our Holiday Shoppe and last year we purchased all the items and had parents wrap them before the sale. We left the display items open so the kids can see and rest were wrapped. When a child wanted to purchase the item we just reach in the box below and gave them the wrap gift. We did keep all teh items at $1.25 to keep it simple with prices. It worked great and it cut down on the lines. We had the parents that wanted to help pick up a box of items and wrap them at home at their lesuire, we kepy track by them signin g the item s in and out with all the count. WE have about 1100 kids in our school. I hope this helps.

We can all make a diffrence...

The long line at the gift wrapping table has been a problem for us too.
This year we are going to try something different.
I bought rolls of wrapping paper last year after Christmas on clearance.
I am going to send some paper and tape home with a few parents.
We are going to make an envelope type thing.
Fold in 3 sides, tape closed and leave one side open.
Hope that makes sense.
Then when the kids get to the table we will just
slide the gift in and tape the 4th side.
We buy ornaments from Oriental Trading and sell them.
Most of our items are about the same size.
Hope this helps.
