That has worked well for us also until last May when about $600 went missing along with order forms for shirts. So now we can no longer send money to school unless we are there to collect it.
Our fundraiser is for at least a month, but will accept donations throughout the year. It's not feasible for someone to be there everyday to collect the money. The only solution we were given was to mail it.
We also have a contest and prize for the class who returns the most forms, even if the family doesn't donate. Just to know the parents saw the form. Would you take time to mail the form if you're not donating?
Wow--that's cumbersome...we put a class roster on an envelope and leave it with the teacher. As a check comes in we put the check in the envelope and have the teacher check the date the child turned it in. This is for our big fundraiser. Otherwise we leave a large envelope in the front office...the money comes in and goes into the envelope and we collect once a week for the treasurer to process...Has worked well for us!!!

We can no longer send money to our school office and have it collected. We now need to mail our donations to the committee chair and are worried that parents won't take the time to mail it. How does your group handle the collection of money?
