Penny King and Queen Pageant

17 years 2 months ago #136275 by Ilovemyvolunteerjob
Our school has done the penny-format contest before. It's quite simple...the children place jars either in the school or at local businesses and collect pennies. The student with the most pennies wins. We have used this concept in conjunction with our Relay for Life fundraising. We do a "Kiss the Pig" contest. Popular teachers and the headmaster have jars, and the students fill the jars with money based on who they want to kiss the pig. The teacher/administrator with the most money has to pucker up and kiss a pig during assembly, and all the money goes to Relay for Life.

Maybe it would be the boy and girl who bring in the most pennies, a penny war for the crown. ??

Our PTO normally has a Mardi Gras Pageant where contestants sell ads to determine the winner. This year they want to switch up and have a Penny King and Queen format. But NOBODY knows how to operate one. Any ideas?? Has anyone ever operated one?? How did it work??
