Our school wouldn't allow something like this for a few reasons. Its distracting for the students during the day, it would bother the bud drivers and not every family could afford this.
Even though $5 seems affordable, many parents are stretching the dollar as it is. Think about the number of kids that qualify for free or reduced price lunches. The child that doesn't get balloons on their birthday would feel left out.
It sounds like a nice idea but we couldn't do it. We have sort of this district thing that deliveries not go to schools, it is to hard for kids to get them home on the bus, kids feel left out and it seems to be a distraction. But if you can do it it is cute.

Have any of you offered this at your school? We have an elementary school in our city that does these and we're interested in offering it also. It's a Birthday Balloon Bouquet. The school that currently offers this takes orders until mid-Oct. for the rest of the school year. They attach the balloons to a giraffe with an embroidered school spirit shirt on the giraffe for $20. I'm waiting for a response from my email to them for more details, but wanted to see if any one else offers this? We were thinking of doing this for $5 for the balloon bouquet with a small weight at the bottom, nothing too pricey for the first year. Of course they would have to be ordered in advance. We were going to offer 4-5 multi-colored latex balloons plus a mylar that says Happy Birthday. Our school already acknowledges birthdays each morning during open ceremonies and each student gets a birthday pencil and certificate. This would be something a parent or grandparent would order and would benefit the PTA. Please let me know of any ideas or if you already do this.
