We did this in conjunction with a pancake breakfast. Our kindergarten teacher and her family are also dairy cow farmers so she brought a cow. She also brought a very young calf for the kids to see and pet. Our cow had stage fright and never did poo on the field. She told us they alway's go when they load on the trailer. We ended up having one of the kids randomly draw a # (coinsiding w/square of course).
Everyone had a great time and the fall weather was awsome. We will probably do this again.
My sister had a cow plop in Vermont and raised over 10K for her school. Unfortunately, due to the large crowd that was surrounding the area, the cow was nervous and did her business right away. They had planned on it taking up to an hour, so they scrambled to push up the other events they had planned for the day. Just keep in mind that it may take only a few minutes and it may take a few hours!!
Making a positive difference one project at a time <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>
This fundraiser has been done in my town (not by school) and did quite well. Basically, people purchase a "square" on a field for a certain price. Then the cow is let loose to do his business. If hits your square, you are a winner! (It has also been called B.S. Bingo - but not sure if they really used a Bull!)
