You couldn't be more right about emotions running high! As for membership status, there was a new online process for registering this year and it lead to significant confusion regarding status. In the end, we assured that all voters were confirmed against a verified membership list. We'd love to let the current PTA "fizzle"; however, that would not happen at our school as there is dissention. While I do not believe that these dissenters represent the majority, I don't want to create a problem for our principal, our school, or our parents in having to choose between two separate organizations.

If you are sure the majority wish to leave PTA why not just form a PTO?
There are NO rules that say you cannot start a PTO when there is a PTA, if most parents join the PTO then the PTA will fizzle out. </font>[/QUOTE]
