There are so many more reasons to stay PTA! Reflections is a great program, giving children an opportunity to "compete" on a national level while encouraging the arts!
PTA advocacy to all levels of government is another reason. I also think a common vision is another strength.
Six years ago when deciding about involvement in the PTA at my child's school. I researched PTA and talked to other parents. I couldn't find a reason not to join and have been a supporter since. Ultimately, it is what is the best fit for the families at our school. PTA has my vote.
We are currently exploring dropping from PTA membership and becoming a PTO. The one area that is an issue is the Reflections Program. It is popular at our school and we are not having luck finding an alternative.
