I am very pro-PTA, but I have never thought this website was anti-PTA. Maybe I misunderstood your remarks, but I think it's only been the banter in this forum that would seem anti-PTA or pro-PTO.
Here's a link to an FAQ page with a lot of the basic answers on the differences between PTOs and PTAs. (www.ptotoday.com/ptofaq.html
)
Good news is that -- at the local/unit level -- there's very, very little difference.
PTO Today, Inc. is a service company (and/or media company) that serves parent-teacher groups, all parent-teacher groups. This site, our print magazine, our conferences, our School Family Nights program and all of the rest of our programs are intended to help parent groups help their schools. All of those services are open to all types of K-8 parent-teacher groups equally.
I've been checking out this idea of PTA vs PTO for awhile.
Is this website anti PTA or pro PTO???? (there is a differance)
Trying to get info without having to pay an arm and a leg and without reading thru thousands of inflamitory statements. Just the facts.
Any info would be helpful
Is the PTOtoday itself a nonprofit group? :confused:
thnx y'all
