Our PTO is undergoing a major transformation. We are from a small town and originally the PTO consisted of three mom's doing everything. This has grown and of course because of that has evolved into more problems within. Last year alot of conflict evolved in the group and culminated with an ousting of an officer who was "too" scholl friendly I feel was their opinion. My feeling is that the PTO is there to help and benefit the school, not to dictate or try to "micromanage". We have a select group that are not happy with a couple of programs or events that we have funded over the years and are adamant that we will not fund them anymore without explanations from the principal. We do not have any by-laws, voting was done on a holiday weekend, you had to attend to vote and I am wondering what the voting by-laws usually are. Also, how do you handle a father(micromanager) who has been to a total of two meetings and is now trying to change the world, his wife always attended but I guess he has decided that he needs to step in. Thanks for you advice, I'm concerned that the great relationship that we have had with our school personnel is going to ultimately suffer.
