PTO v PTA Differences Summary Flyer

Thanks for the great flyer. I totally agree with Ms Haan that the members don't know what the PTA is doing (Lobbying) at the national level or the state level.

I volunteer quite a bit at the school and serve on a committe for the PTA, but I am not a pta member. What's interesting is when I asked 4 years ago why we are a PTA and not a PTO, the answer was "so we can enter the Reflections contest." Here's the catch that is always the last committee chaired and they ususally have to ask someone, no one volunteers. And in a school of almost 700, only 50 or less children enter. Hmmmm.

I will give our PTA credit they support our school in a superb way, but that would happen PTA or PTO with the wonderful parents at our school.

Hi All -

We've had a lot of requests for this over the years, so we put something together that should be helpful to many contemplating the switch.

The summary in article form is here: www.ptotoday.com/pto-vs-pta-differences-at-a-glance

We've also designed it in a 2-page .pdf format for printing out and using at meetings, and loaded that into the File Exchange here: www.ptotoday.com/filesharing/document/60...ferences-at-a-glance

Hope it's of service.
