Holy Cow -- Oregon PTA Dues

At my son's middle school, PTA dues are $8.00 per person. I am so gald that our grade school is a PTO, and we dont have to deal with the whole issue....

Guess when your Nat'l and State membership #'s dwindle you gotta make money to pay the lobbyist somewhere ;)

Lord knows it not going for a readable, managable website, free training, leadership seminars or workshops.

Just ran across this -- Oregon PTA just upped state dues from $3.50 per member to $7.25 per member. Ouch!

oregonpta.org/docs/BylawsAmendments2007.pdf

This means that each Oregon PTA unit now must send $9 per member out to state + national and that the average Oregon PTA unit will be paying nearly $2,000 in dues. Double ouch!
