Picking up on a theme frm another thread, why not put in the chest, golden tickets, each one gives the teacher the privildege to volunteer one hour at an event during the year. get it?

its an honor and reward to be able to participate in events with the kids. it means A LOT to thekids, and teaxchers who show up after hours for events and such, and pariticapate or hlep out, get many returns in increased 'je ne sais quoi' from the kids in their classroom who konw they care about them and their school when they see them out of the box, ie at other places outside the classroom. its called role modeling, beign there, particiapant , i dont know, but kids learn more from SEEING than from HEARING sometimes, they just learn differnet things.

What a cute idea! I love it, especially with the popularity of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean which is out now!

Why don't you write a little rhyme like this:

Welcome back, all you buccaneers
Yo ho ho--it's a brand new year
And so it is, with great pleasure
That we ask you to find your hidden treasure

Then you can have a little map showing the way to the teachers' lounge, marked with a big X

we are buying sprial notebooks,papertowels, 2 reams of copy paper,pens, glue, crayons, pencils
we are a charter and don't get the same moneies as a public school.

We give our teachers a few things the school does not buy like sharpies, sticky notes, etc.

and asprin--it is the first day after all
