When I first saw the test page I was like oh I went to the wrong site, I was a little confused how to get to the message board. I looked and looked and then decided it must be under the "sharing" section. Maybe it is me but it was quite a drastic change from what we are use to! It was like that book "Who moved My cheese?" ha ha ha
"When you stop learning you stop growing."
Also could I please put in a request that PTO Today serve as a role model and make its website ADA compatible.
In the commonly accepted standards, there are levels of accessibility called Priority 1, 2, and 3. Priority 1 is the really basic stuff like have Alt Tags on all graphics. (The text that shows when your mouse hovers over a graphic. This is what visually impaired users rely on when there screen readers interpret a page.)
Priority 1 is really expected. Priority 2 is desired. Priority 3 gets more complicated.
PTO Today really shouldn't accept anything less than Priority 1.
I appreciate how PTO Today is always striving to try new things, to enhance what's here.
If you are trying to streamline, I'm guessing some people thought the front page was overwhelming???
But, for me, the test page is just too bare. Not enough meat or substance. I personally don't want to have to go several levels deep in a website to find things. I want as much as possible at my fingertips.
But on the bright side, it's very calming, very restful to look at.
I haven't seen it yet but I still vote for having, oh heck, I don't know what it's called. Where you can go back to previous threads above the thread you are currently looking at. Does that make sense? LOL
I only have a 15" screen and if I'm in an IM, I push this window over, then the "go to new topic" is not showing, so I have to keep moving the window. My browser back button doesn't always show so it makes it easier to have the aboev mentioned thing.
Don't ya love my technical terms? LOL
