When I planned my first carnival, I did a search on this website. I also used US Toy Company. They had lots of inexpensive games and prizes as well as ideas. I believe Oriental Trading has a section for carnival planning on their website too.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
We are in the process of planning a spring outdoor carnival. This will be the first carnival at our new school and the first that I've been involved in planning. I've ordered an ABC catalog but if anyone has any ideas on games or activities that we can make ourselves, that would be great. We have a parent that has volunteered to bring a racecar made at our local college (they work with NASCAR) and we are going to do pictures with that. We have another that is bringing a tractor to do hay-rides, I figure the kids won't care if it's not fall! As for food, we can't decide between selling pizza or hot dogs or both! We have a parent that works for Coke and we are getting a lot of drinks donated as well as a concession trailer. But we don't have many games planned. Any suggestions?
