We have a "walker" room. They are the first to be let out of the school and all the kids go to the room where there person meets them. The school has two watchers that help with signing the kids out. All chilren have to be signed out by the person picking them up after awhile you get to know who goes with who. They have to show ID if they are not a legal gurdian.

My principal recently asked if I had any ideas on how to make sure the person that is picking up the student is on the list in the office. Last week she said there was an incident, although it ended ok, so she would like some ideas on ways to make this easier. So for the students that are pick ups, how do you know that the person there to get them is ok. We thought maybe ID cards with the child's name and picture would have to be shown. So basically, at the beginning of the year every person on the list would get a card that they must show in order for that child to be released to them. But that seems like way to much time and money considering that most of the kids ride the bus anyway. I would love to hear how other schools tackle this problem. Thanks.
