Last year our school was selected to be the host to intorduce the USPS Dr Suess stamp, an interesting media event. Your post office might want to do a presentation on the stamp. Also, our kids made construction paper hats, no sewing involved!
I am looking for fun and educational ideas on how to celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss week in March.Last year we had a green eggs and ham breakfast on monday with parents in Grinch and Cat in the hat costumes and we showed a short 15 Dr. Seuss movie. The rest of the week the older student went to the younger grades and read Dr. Seuss books to students, we had a question of the day about Dr. Seuss and the students won a prize if they got the correct answer. Then on Friday the children got sugar cookies that looked like the Dr. Seuss hat. Oh, on Monday the kindergarten thru 2nd graders got felt cat in the hat hats that they wore all week and took home on Friday. We are not sewing 150 hats again this year so I am looking for some more fun, educational and new thing for this special week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
